Students from local primary schools showed off their acting skills during a drama workshop at Newquay Tretherras on Friday 5th February.
The workshop aimed to develop their communication skills as well as allowing them to explore a chosen theme in a creative manner. Working closely with a Head of Drama Mrs Cate Halford, students took part in a number of activities with the aim of producing short performances at the end of the day.
The 20 pupils worked on creating ‘Flash Scenes’ from Oliver Twist that encourage their creative thinking.
Mrs Halford commented, ‘ Drama is invaluable as a means of developing language skills, encouraging positive social interaction, stimulating imaginations and teaching children how to listen and respond appropriately. The young actors have been fantastic and I hope they will look forward to being involved in future Newquay Tretherras productions.’
