MFL – French & Spanish

The Modern Foreign Languages department aims to develop students’ language skills and cultural awareness to inspire them to engage in a multicultural world and become lifelong language learners.
Students choose to study either French or Spanish.

Year 7
This year involves studying the patterns of the language as well as finding out about the culture behind the words. Students are encouraged to speak, write, read, and listen to French or Spanish in a range of interactions with the teacher and one another. They gradually acquire a range of good vocabulary that will enable them to use it in real-life short communications.
