Teachers at Newquay Tretherras have been taking part in workshops with the aim of developing their teaching practice to ultimately aid their provision of outstanding education.
The group of teachers took part in three short, varied master classes, the focuses being ‘progress checks’, ‘modelling’ and ‘the importance of seating plans’.
Lead teacher, Jono Knight said, “It’s been a really important opportunity for staff to reflect on their teaching practice and share outstanding methodology.”
To demonstrate ‘progress checks’, Mr Knight asked the group to attempt to perform a simple reggae arrangement before demonstrating various methods of testing understanding and measuring progress.
Languages teacher, Mr Dan Ellery commented, “These sessions have been very beneficial to me as a teacher, refreshing my everyday teaching strategies by bringing them to the forefront and updating them.”
