On 26th March, members of the Royal Navy visited students at Newquay Tretherras to talk about the range of job opportunities available in the military.

The talk was open to all year groups and saw about 60 interested students attend the assembly.

The presentation covered all aspects of careers within the Royal Navy including what the Navy does, the variety of jobs available, the salary and the perks, how to go about joining and what the process involves.

Chief Petty Officer, Andy Hinds said, “It’s important to do these talks to students, as what is portrayed in the news is often not accurate. By coming in and talking about our first hand experiences, it gives the students a better insight into a military career.”

Ms Sara Jeffery, careers advisor at Tretherras said, “I was really impressed with the turn out of students. They all asked lots of questions and seemed to get a lot out of it which is brilliant.”
