On Friday 13th June, Newquay Tretherras’ Year 11s had their final GCSE examination before saying their goodbyes during an emotional assembly.
Gathered in Newquay Sports Centre, the students concluded their school time with an assembly that celebrated the five memorable years they spent at Tretherras.
There were musical and dance performances from pupils before certificates were awarded to chosen students in categories such as ‘Most Likely to Rule the World’ and Most Likely to be Famous’.
Students then took the time to thank the staff for their work over the years by presenting them with various gifts.
It finished with a surprise performance from all the Year 11 form tutors and pastoral team of American Author’s current pop song ‘Best Day of My Life’.
Jane Hurley, Head of Year commented, “Our Year 11s have been a credit to the school with their tremendous work ethic and positive attitudes. They all deserve to do well and I look forward to being there on results day when they get their results.”
She continued, “A big thank you to everyone that helped organise such a fantastic finish for the students, particularly Crantock Bakeries who donated 300 pasties for the kids to enjoy on the day!”
The pupils will gather again on 27th June for their prom night at The Atlantic Hotel in Newquay.
