Year 11 Mock Interviews 2017

Letterr mock interviews 2017

Dear Parent/Carer

Year 11 Mock Interviews on Thursday 5th October

We will be holding mock interviews for the whole of Year 11 on Thursday 5th October.  We are delighted to say that we have over 20 visitors from a wide range of businesses, training organisations and further education colleges who will be conducting the interviews for us in school.

Students have been asked to write a CV for us to send in advance to their ‘interviewer’. If this has not been done then students are asked to bring a copy of their CV with them to the interview so that they can be given feedback on their CV as well as their interview technique.  We feel that this is an extremely valuable opportunity and we are very grateful that so many employers have agreed to give up their time to support the school and our students.

Each interview will last approximately 10 minutes (plus 5 minutes of feedback) and we will be endeavouring to match students to employers that may be of potential interest to them.  However, it will not be possible to do this for all students.  Therefore we ask that students participate to the best of their ability regardless of which company their ‘interviewer’ is from.  Students are also encouraged to do some research about the business that is interviewing them and prepare answers to possible questions.

The aim is for students to have a realistic experience of how an interview might be and for them to learn from this, so it is important that they imagine they are applying for a real job, further training or higher education, and make the most of this valuable opportunity.

Some of the companies may want to take photos of the interviews for their own training and marketing purposes.  If you do not wish any photos of your child to be shared, please can you contact the school in advance of the interview date.

We appreciate your support in making this a very successful and useful experience for our students.

Yours faithfully

Ms S Jeffery
