Year 7 Shoebox Appeal

Year 7 students at Newquay Tretherras have been getting charitable recently by collecting gift-filled shoeboxes to be given as Christmas presents to elderly in the community.

The boxes have been filled with donations from students, such as toiletries, sweets and puzzles, as well as gifts from stall holders at the Newquay Tretherras Christmas Fayre and the PTA.

Miss Jane Hurley, Head of Year 7 said, ‘I have been overwhelmed with the kindness shown by the students in Year 7. There are some lovely gifts, some that are hand made, and students are also making little bags to put gifts in.”

She continued, “It is a real community feel and I am very proud of the students and hope that they will bring smiles to faces on Christmas day.”
