A broad range of sports on offer included rugby, football, hockey, netball, indoor athletics, rock climbing and trampolining. The young sporting stars actively engaged and got some one to one expert coaching from the Tretherras NTSport staff as well as the NT Sports Leaders.Mr. Tristan White the Director of Transition at Tretherras explained that the Tretherras Youth University programme is growing more popular each year. This year the school had to bring in more staff to manage events and extend the range of activates available.
Mr. White commented, “I am always overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the children and their parents, who choose to come in to school on a Saturday and get so involved.”
He added, “It is also a testament to the professionalism of the staff at Tretherras that they too give up their Saturday and deliver such fun and engaging activities that keep the children coming back for more”
Over the next two Saturdays there are Youth Universities in Science, Mathematics and Technology (September 28th), and Creative and Performing Arts (October 5th).
