The Newquay community is invited to attend a public consultation evening to review and comment on the proposals for the replacement of the old 1950 age school buildings at Newquay Tretherras.
The drop in public consultation will take place at Newquay Tretherras, in the Junior H all on Tuesday, 4th July 2017, from 3.00pm to 7.00pm.
Newquay Tretherras, working with the Education and Skills Funding Agency, are proposing to build a new school facility that will replace all of the block built in the 1950s (also known as the lower school). The existing buildings will be replaced by one new building that will provide 24 modern, bright and attractive classrooms, a multi-purpose hall (which will be used as a performance theatre and dining area), an activity studio, changing facilities and offices.
The Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP2) scheme includes the relocation of the new external play and tennis courts, and the demolition of existing buildings to create a larger space for socialising.
The purpose of this event is to give the community the opportunity to review the proposals and comment on the scheme prior to the Planning application being submitted to Cornwall Council.
Representatives from Newquay Tretherras, the Education and Skills Funding Agency and the building contractor will be available to explain the scheme in detail and answer any queries.
