Parents and young learners from Newquay attended the final Newquay Tretherras Youth University Session, Saturday 6th.
Year 5 & 6 primary pupils took part in sessions themed around the Creative Arts curriculum offer at Newquay Tretherras.
Together pupils and parents worked on a range of ‘NT Creative’ workshops throughout the morning, making ‘Day of the Dead’ clay masks in Art, cheerleading routines in Dance, action-packed animations in Media, expressive acting scenes in Drama, pop tune arrangements in Music and energetic performances acts in the new Musical Theatre workshops.
Newquay Tretherras Deputy Headteacher, Ms Sarah Goswell commented, “It has been a truly enjoyable morning with lots of creative engagement and activity. At Newquay Tretherras we firmly believe that creativity is an important part of a balanced education. We look to give every child that comes here the opportunity to develop themselves in every subject.”
Ms Goswell presented pupils with certificates and prizes at the end of the morning’s sessions.
