Continuing the record breaking A Level and Vocational results last week, Newquay Tretherras students continue their Summer of Success.
Newquay Tretherras students celebrated their KS4 exam success with families and friends this morning as they collected their much awaited results.
Particular congratulations for their high achievements go to the following students who all achieved strings of Grade 8s and 9s, the very highest grades possible: Sam Millington, David Davies, Olivia Thomas, Holly Cooper, Ben Hammersley, Alex Mousley, Jack Kokios, Michael Kessell, Holly Marchington, Chloe Barry and George Andretti. Congratulations go to Sam Millington and Alex Mousley for also achieving A* in A Level Mathematics and GCSE Further Maths, alongside stunning GSCE results.
Headteacher Samantha Fairbairn said, “Our students once again have lots to celebrate and we congratulate them on their achievements. We are delighted that our strengths in creative and performing arts and humanities have been reflected in particularly strong outcomes in these subjects. Students have achieved high numbers of grade 9s again this year, with 59 awarded to our students. This new grade is at an even higher level than an A*, so this is a real achievement!
Richard Higginson, Senior Assistant Headteacher, added, “We are very proud of all our year 11 students who have been full of smiles and tears of joy this morning collecting their results. We look forward to welcoming a large number of them back to Tretherras to continue their education with us studying A Levels and a range of vocational courses in the sixth form. Good luck to all of our students who, as a result of their GCSE grades, are now moving in to apprenticeships and other post 16 courses across Cornwall.”
Chair of Newquay Education Trust, Sarah Karkeek, said ‘Tretherras students have once again worked hard to achieve their very best and we are very proud of them. We are thrilled with the individual successes of our students in the new qualifications, and we are proud of our dedicated and talented staff, who have worked tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes for the students in their care.
Congratulations must also go to our fantastically supportive parents, who have worked extremely hard to support students through the many challenges of the summer exam season!’
