15 NT Sixth Form students visited RAF St Mawgan last week, for a PTI and Survival Skills day as part of the Newquay Tretherras Health Month.
The Tretherras students that included our Year 12 Cambridge Tech took the opportunity to see for themselves the potential career paths in the Armed Forces.
Students had a tour of the base and its facilities, spending the morning working with the RAF Flight Sergeants Physical Training Instructor (PTI) in the station gymnasium. The students completed the RAF Fitness Test, which involved completing press-ups and sit-ups for one minute and the bleep test.
In the afternoon students visited the Defence Survival Training Organisation (DSTO) area of the base where students experience military survival skills and basic parachuting training.
