Newquay Tretherras students enjoyed the glamorous Year 11 Prom at the Hotel Victoria on 30th July.
The leaver’s prom saw large crowds gathering outside the hotel to watch over 200 students arrive in a spectacular range of luxury and unique vehicles. More unusual arrivals turned up on an electric scooter, the Newquay land train, motorbikes, a tractor and even a vintage traction engine which was a real crowd-pleaser.
The arrivals posed for pictures before walking along the red carpet to enjoy their evening meal together.
They were joined by Headteacher Mrs Fairbairn, their Head of Year Mrs Schiavo-Tench, Deputy Head of Year Mrs Pender, and many other teachers who have supported them for the past five years.
After dinner proceedings saw awards handed out to prom night guests, including Prom King, which went to Henry Troth, and Prom Queen, which went to Nell Gray.
Mrs Schiavo-Tench commented; “Our Year 11’s looked amazing, from their outfits to their arrivals! We are all incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves during Prom and, as always, they were a pleasure to spend time with. They were an exemplary year group and role models for our younger students. We’ll certainly miss them all.”
