Year 10 Newquay Tretherras student, Gabriella Ryder, attended the Coronation Concert on Sunday after being nominated by Cornwall Council’s Children’s Rights Team. The Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall, Edward Bolitho, had 9 pairs of tickets to award to deserving people from community and charitable organisations in the Duchy and Gabi was one of those selected for her endeavours in supporting the Cornwall Youth Council!

Like Gabi’s family, Tretherras are very proud of the achievements she has made and the fact that her hard work has been recognised. Gabi has played an active role in focus groups in school which have helped her achieve goals of the Youth Council, they are now run from within the Council itself, rather than through Action for Children. This is a huge step in showing how much emphasis the Council is putting upon the views of our young people.

Well done Gabi, you are a credit to Tretherras, yourself and your family. What a great opportunity for you to attend the Coronation Concert on Sunday, a memory that will stay with you forever. Keep up the great work!
