Business partners
We are lucky enough to have two Enterprise Advisers linked to our school, Giles Corbey and Jane Cornelius.
Giles is Owner and Director of Corbey Construction. Corbey Construction are an award-winning Masonry Contractor with a proud record of training and employing Cornish workers including many apprentices, who work alongside national and local construction companies delivering new homes for Cornish communities. Giles is passionate about good careers education and skills development and we are privileged to have him working with us.
Jane is a former teacher in primary and secondary settings, currently working as a Youth Engagement Officer for Whitehead Ross in Newquay town centre. She has 25 years of experience in education and now works with young people aged 15-24 to help them structure their future and find a pathway to a sustainable and successful career. Jane’s network, expertise and resources will be invaluable to us in securing work experience placements for students, and supporting them with their next steps. We are very pleased to welcome her on board.
Both of our Enterprise Advisers will be working with us to deliver careers activities in school such as mock interviews and workshops, aswell as mentoring students on a one to one basis where required whilst giving us an insight in to the world of business. We are very grateful that Giles and Jane have volunteered to give up their valuable time to support our school.
We also work closely with Careers South West, Newquay Orchard,and Real Ideas Organisation to ensure our students get the best tailored careers advice.
