The school curriculum at Newquay Tretherras aims to inspire and challenge all learners and prepare our students for the future. We are proud of our traditional, broad and balanced academic curriculum which supports students to become confident individuals, responsible citizens and successful learners who can fulfil their early promise and latent potential within and beyond the classroom. We offer specialist extra help and support for those with special needs and barriers to learning.

Our taught lessons in Phase 1 follow our own ‘Tretherras Way’ and students experience a personalised approach to their learning through developing key character skills: self-awareness; ambition; collaboration; curiosity; resilience; responsibility and empathy. Links between subjects, events and activities are made to enhance learning and students are encouraged to reflect on their lessons from both a British and a global perspective. We offer a wide range of examination courses in Phase 2 and Phase 3: Advanced Academy, so that students can pursue their own areas of interest and expertise through their GCSE and A level studies and beyond.

At Newquay Tretherras it is our aim to develop every student’s potential and to help them achieve to the very best of their ability. At Tretherras we believe passionately in empowering all students to become successful lifelong learners who are self-aware, creative and resourceful enough to meet the challenges, careers and opportunities of the 21st century. Our school curriculum seeks to prepare young people for being an adult in a rapidly changing world. We offer a vast array of extra-curricular clubs and activities designed to give students the opportunity to nurture their talents and apply their learning beyond the classroom.

We are an ambitious educational community which believes in setting the highest expectations and aspirations for absolutely everyone as part of our inspirational vision for the whole ‘Tretherras Family’.
